Vitality Motivation Nutrition Action
Welcome to a personal primer that engages your attention through improving vitality with motivation and improving health through correct nutrition and ultimately by taking action to bring about the change that you are looking to bring about.
While your health is important to your enjoying a full and active life, you also need to feel alive, vital and energetic along with it. The key to unlocking that additional aspect of life comes in the form of getting plenty of fresh air and exercise. Along with that comes eating a healthy diet free from the many toxins that modern manufactured meals and food ingredients contain.
Toxic Bodies
Many of us are walking around in toxic bodies because we have not been educated in the way that our modern foods are prepared and created. We think it quite normal to go and eat a fast food restaurant meal typically made up of a hamburger and fries, which is washed down with some flavor of soda, maybe a milkshake and some kind of sweet pastry for dessert. We think nothing of buying frozen ready meals from the supermarket so we can simply blast them in the microwave and have an instant meal to eat without the hassle of having to prepare and cook it ourselves.
We eat cakes, pie, cookies, chocolate and candy bars to satisfy our sweet tooth, while eating hot dogs, pizza and all manner of takeout food because we don't believe we have the time or patience to cook for ourselves using fresh ingredients. We drink soda, diet soda thinking its better, sports drinks, flavored fruit drinks, beer and alcoholic beverages, tea and coffee sweetened with sugar and smoothed with cream.
Yet all of this stuff contains a barrage of artificial additives including colors, flavors, sweeteners, bulking agents and preservatives. None of these things are good for us and collectively, they are very bad for us. They are toxins that get into our bodies and give our digestive systems a real hard time in breaking them down. They give our livers an even harder time trying to soak up all the poisons and eliminate them from our system. It all mounts up over time because our bodies are not designed to cope with so many artificially manufactured toxins and we become toxic. We are more susceptible to illness and our health suffers. We get depressed, lethargic and fed up.
Vitality
Vitality comes from getting plenty of exercise and eating a wholesome, healthy diet, there's no doubt about that. To achieve this happy state, we also need to de-toxify our bodies and stop feeding them so much unhealthy stuff. We have to learn how to cook for ourselves and use only fresh ingredients and not packet stuff, canned stuff or stuff out of a bottle!
Motivation
Motivation comes from wanting to make the necessary changes in your life. A drunk is never reformed until he decides to stop drinking! You have to decide to stop eating crap and start eating healthily. You have to decide that you want to exercise and get more fresh air while spending less time indoors slumped in front of the TV or computer games console. You have to get motivated to change things!
Nutrition
Learn what nutrition is all about! You need to know what certain foods do for you and how they affect your physical health. Read up on what all the additives in processed foods actually are and how they negatively affect your health. Just knowing it might not stop you eating foods that contain them any more than putting a great big "Smoking Kills" message on every pack of cigarettes will stop anyone smoking. But its a start and it gets you into an awareness place where you can choose to start being more wary of certain additives.
Taking Action
Lastly, none of this will be for anything if you don't take action. Start doing what you are learning about. Start to eat more healthily and start to exercise more. Start to see the television as the time sucking, life wasting monster that it is. Start to get interested in other things that are more fulfilling and enjoyable and, hey, even things that benefit your community and not just you!
You can do it if you want to do it enough. You just have to make up your mind that you really want change. Then go for it by taking action!
